Are roads open year-round?

Yes. Both E10, bridges and all roads on Gimsøy are maintained all year. In winter (Oct–Apr), use proper snow tires.

Do I need a car in Lofoten?

Yes, a car is strongly recommended for exploring Lofoten. Public transport is limited, and there are no taxis based on Gimsøy.

Do you offer airport transfers?

No — there is no transfer service. Guests typically rent a car at the airport.

Yes — you can start the popular hike to Hoven (368 m) from the house, plus other scenic trails.

Yes, the water is cold but clean. The temperature ranges from about 2°C in winter to 12–15°C in summer.

What activities are nearby?

Hiking, kayaking, beach walks, surfing, northern lights watching, fishing, birdwatching and midnight sun experiences.

 10Verified Beautiful memories, would love to come back! ☺Choosing this place was the best decision! You are completely surrounded by nature, have access to the beach. Calm surroundings, not many cars pass by. Fresh air, mountain views, midnight sun, a terrace to have your morning coffee with amazing views. The house is decorated beautifully, very cosy and most importantly, you'll find anything you need for cooking in the kitchen. Bring binoculars! It was interesting to observe nature and birds with those. We had a chance to meet the owners - kind, welcoming, helpful people ☺️ ☹Have in mind you might need to purchase water for drinking or cooking from a shop.  Verified Geweldig fijn huis dat met smaak is ingericht. De ontvangst was hartelijk. De omgeving is heerlijk. Lekker rustig aan het water. Vanuit het huis hebben we zeearenden gezien en zeehonden. De berg Hoven beklimmen die achter het huis ligt is aan te raden. Het huis is schoon en ingericht op alle gemakken. Lillevik is a charming place with a classic Lofoten house with stylish interior and great views both from the inside as well as the outside Gimsøya is a quiet place and good for relaxing. It is also the perfect base for discovering the rest of Lofoten placed in the middle of the Island group. Gimsøya itself is also great for activities like hiking, fishing, swimming, bicycling and horseback-riding - or watching the sunset or aurora borealis We will hopefully return and can warmly recommend Lillevik

Our youngest daughter, 7 years old, said as soon as we arrived : "wow, the giant TV !" speaking of the view from the many windows in the living room, what a reward for us !! Thanks to Martine and Christian for letting us enjoy this superbly renovated house. Thank you for the book detailing the work, the workbook which explains everything for the house, and gives us lots of advice for enjoying the region, the very warm wood stove in the evening (you can buy everything you need at the grocery store a few kilometers away), the necessary to make the waffles ... As a bonus, we were able to observe for 1 hour a couple of otters very, very close, just below the house. An incredible moment ! Truly a wonderful stay !

Unser 5-Nächte-Aufenthalt war ausgezeichnet. Die Gastgeber haben aus dem Weg gegangen, um alle Informationen, die Sie jemals über das Haus, die Geräte, Dinge in der Gegend zu tun, Lebensmittelgeschäft Standorte, etc. bieten könnte. Sie sind über sich hinausgewachsen, um den Gästen ein einmaliges Erlebnis zu bieten. Als es regnete, schickten sie mir proaktiv eine Nachricht mit Vorschlägen, was wir tun könnten, und gaben uns sogar Zugang zu ihrem privaten Bootshaus, wenn wir draußen sitzen wollten, während sie einen Unterstand über uns hatten. Alles war so sauber, und in der Küche hatten wir alles, was wir brauchten, um jeden Abend einfache Mahlzeiten zuzubereiten. Es gibt Verdunkelungsvorhänge, die sehr gut funktionieren, wenn die Sonne die ganze Nacht scheint. Vielen Dank für einen fantastischen Aufenthalt an einem so schönen Ort.

Beeindruckender Ort und Lage! Das Haus und die Ausstattung sind tadellos, ebenso wie die Lage und die Aussicht. Es ist klein, aber sehr geräumig, 4 Schlafzimmer, großer Esstisch, großes Wohnzimmer Platz und schöne Aussicht, Keller, Schlammraum und der Tisch draußen sind ein Plus. Wir werden bei nächster Gelegenheit wiederkommen. Alles ist gut dokumentiert und sie bieten erstaunliche Reise Vorschläge.

Ein echtes Zuhause auf den Lofoten! Warmes, schönes Haus. Große Panoramafenster, gemütliche Möbel und Kamin, tolle Küche. Die herrliche Landschaft kann man direkt vom Sofa aus genießen.

Das beste Airbnb, in dem ich je gewohnt habe! Ausgezeichnetes, modernes, renoviertes Haus für 2-8 Personen. Fantastischer Blick auf das Meer und nach Norden für die Aurora. Schönes Wohn- und Esszimmer mit einem Kamin. Gut regulierbare Heizung. Die Internetverbindung ist schnell genug, um Filme zu streamen. Gut ausgestattete Küche. Moderne Waschmaschine und Trockner im Keller. Werden auf jeden Fall wieder hier wohnen!

Küche und Essbereich. Der Tisch kann ausgezogen werden und bietet bequem Platz für 10 Personen.

Die Küche ist mit Geräten höchster Qualität ausgestattet und bietet alles, was Sie in einer modernen Küche brauchen.
